Getting started with billing

Foundry uses Stripe to ensure a secure, trusted billing experience for Spot Instances and Compute Blocks. Note paying by card is subject to a 2.9% fee; ACH payments do not incur any additional fee.

Spot Instances

As a usage-based product, Spot Instances is billed at the end of the month based on the actual used hours of compute. The billed price dynamically changes based on the market and is applied equally to everyone (i.e., no entity is paying less or more for the same instance type at any given time). The billed price is not your limit price, but rather the price based on a second-price auction mechanism.

Compute Blocks

Compute Blocks is billed at the time of reservation. To ensure your reservation is secured, complete the payment flow. If your organization would like to purchase credits such that each reservation does not require payment, please reach out to us on Slack or [e-mail].

Credits

Remaining credits can be viewed in the My Organization section of your account. However, only Compute Blocks usage will live-update your credits. Spot Instances are calculated monthly and subtracted from credits once a month.
